My name is Khadijah. I was born and raised in North Carolina and currently reside here with my husband. I am a pretty down to earth person, or at least I like to think that I am. I pride myself on the fact that I strive, on a daily basis, to become more in tune with who I am, was, and will become, as time progresses. It is my belief that knowledge of self is one of the keys to attaining happiness. As a result of my ongoing journey of self discovery, I have learned the things that I want and do not want, what makes me tick, and what or who will truly make me happy and fulfilled in this life. I think it’s important to also know what others think of you or how they view you. I would say that if those who know me were asked to describe me, they would say I am Muslim, faithful, humble, intelligent, strong, sister, friend,opinionated, aggressive, loyal,music lover, assertive, complicated, confusing, writer, funny, nerd, sarcastic, kind hearted, trustworthy, mean, nice, strong, a softy, analytical, a counselor, a friend, a sister, dependable, moody, selectively introverted, modest, liberal, and conservative. If you ask me, I think I am all of those things at some point in my life and probably much more. Mostly, I would describe myself as a work in progress. Overall, I see myself as a very simple woman who just wants to be happy. I think I am often misunderstood.
Recently, I suddenly began to write. I come from a family of writers but never placed myself in that category. Writing a mean research paper never seemed as exciting as poet. With so many things going through my head, I decided to just let them out and writing seemed perfect. I have found that people actually enjoy my writing but most importantly, I have found myself in a way I never thought possible. Writing has allowed me to get to know myself even more. My newfound love of writing has led me on an exciting journey and Fullsail University has become a destination on my journey. I am ready to grow and learn.
